The East Rutherford School District is a community public school district that serves students in pre-school through eighth grade from East Rutherford, in Bergen County, New Jersey, United States. There is also a small annex building across the street which is used for fifth graders which includes a small office and four classrooms. This was built in 2001 because there were too many students and not enough room in Faust. Now McKenzie School (school across town) is used for children from grades Pre-Kindergarten until 4th.
As of the 2008-09 school year, the district's two schools had an enrollment of 671 students and 68.2 classroom teachers (on an FTE basis), for a student–teacher ratio of 9.8.[1]
The district is classified by the New Jersey Department of Education as being in District Factor Group "CD", the sixth highest of eight groupings. District Factor Groups organize districts statewide to allow comparison by common socioeconomic characteristics of the local districts. From lowest socioeconomic status to highest, the categories are A, B, CD, DE, FG, GH, I and J.[3]
For grades 9 to 12, public school students attend the Henry P. Becton Regional High School in East Rutherford, which serves high school students from both Carlstadt and East Rutherford. The school is part of the Carlstadt-East Rutherford Regional School District.[4]
